Danaya (Hara Duri-e Danaya of Lireo) is a fictional character produced by GMA Network for the Encantadia saga. She appeared in Mulawin: The Movie. She also appeared on a Mulawin Spin-off series such as Encantadia.
Background[]
Sang'gre Danaya of Lireo was the sixth Hara of Lireo. She is the youngest daughter of Queen Minea of Lireo and Enuo. She is also the keeper of the Earth Gem.
Although she was the youngest of Minea's children, Danaya believed that she was worthy of the Lirean throne as much as her elder sisters. But she readily accepted the victory of her elder sister Amihan in the succession contest, and never wavered in her loyalty to Amihan, unlike her other sisters. Perhaps because of this, she was chosen by Amihan as her successor to the throne.
After a long, peaceful reign, Danaya saw the reemergence of Etheria and Hagorn under the leadership of Bathalumang Ether. Danaya eventually oversaw the defeat of Etheria, Hagorn, and Ether, after which she abdicated the throne in favor of her elder sister, Alena.
She is the main love interest of former Mashna Aquil of Lireo. She later marries Aquil and they had a daughter.
Danaya is the only known person to have undergone gem fusion twice, the first with LilaSari, and the second with Pirena and Alena.

Encantadia []
Danaya was brought to the Mortal World and met Enuo whom later was revealed to be her father and was given a Mulawin flute. She later caught Lira on a church which was told by Muyak and asked helped from a Mulawin named Lakan to return to the Encantadia realm by travelling through the Sky Portal.
When Lira was stabbed by Hagorn, Danaya later asked again a help from Lakan to save Lira which may cause her death by using the Gintong Binhi. Luckily, Lira woke up. She and her Ashti (Aunt) Danaya went to the basement were Amihan and her allies were.
Mulawin The Movie []
Danaya with her sisters, Amihan and Alena were present during Aguiluz and Alwina's wedding as it was held on Lireo.
Mulawin vs. Ravena []
Ybrahim, Alena, Danaya, and Mira are having a meeting on Sapiro which Pirena shall call due to a creature known as the Borona which attacked on Hathoria and later went to the world of the Mortals which was summoned by Daragit by using the Balasik.
Trivia[]
- Actress Diana Zubiri should portray Danaya in Mulawin: The Movie but it was said by Robbie Tan of Seiko Films that he did not allow his contract stars including Alfred Vargas who should portray Aquil, the love interest of Danaya, to appear.
- Valerie Concepcion, the actress who portrayed Danaya in Mulawin the Movie, now plays as Tuka in the movie's sequel Mulawin VS Ravena.
